About Us

Chiamoh is a non-profit organization and a concept of truth, empathy, equity, equality, justice and peace, that targets mental health and stress management in women and young people. Although mental health has always been an issue, global health crisis such as the Covid-19 pandemic, socio political conflicts, economic crisis, the struggle for survival has taken a greater toll on mental health. Women who bear the family-work-life burden and young people struggling to survive suffer more. Mental health is still much stigmatized and policies poorly implemented in healthcare systems especially in less economically developed settings such as Sub-Saharan Africa. We aim to improve availability, use and quality of mental healthcare and wellness services to the community; promote mind-body health public education and enable and accompany purpose discovery for better mental health.

Objectives: To

  • Raise mental health awareness in our communities
  • Improve on the quality of mental healthcare
  • Increase availability, use and accessibility to mental health care.
  • Promote self-care and collective-care.
  • Improve on mind-body health public education.
  • Promote mental health through lived experiences.
  • Promote talents to fulfil purpose
  • Increase mental health data to inform decision

Mission: To bridge the mental health gap of low-attention and care in low-income settings.

Our vision: A community where mental health is destigmatised and mental healthcare is available to all, at all times, and irrespective of distance.

Our values: Truth, Empathy, Equity, Equality, Justice and Peace.
